About the event
The use of ‘disruption’ by those of lesser power when wanting to make a point to those with more power has a rather venerable tradition… as have the conservative and reactionary responses to incidents of planned ‘disruption’… From the Moratorium Marches against conscription, via the ‘Green Bans’ in the sixties and the more recent and contemporary examples – the women’s movements, the Freedom Marches, the meanwhile over 50 years of environmental activism - there’s a big story to tell… as well as lessons to be learned… and while we can’t be sure anymore about our future(s), our presents are really precarious enough to call for – possibly disruptive – action and to learn from our pasts…
